Online Course

SQL – What Not to Do

 
  1. General Information

This course is organised by Data Egret GmbH and will be conducted live via Zoom on 26 August 2025, from 13:00 to 16:30 CEST.
The program includes a 3-hour training session and an additional 30-minute Q&A session.

The training is designed for developers working with PostgreSQL. While no advanced SQL is required, a basic understanding of SQL is expected.
Data Egret GmbH shall not be held liable if a participant joins the course without prior SQL knowledge and is unable to follow the content.

  1. Registration and Payment
  • Upon registering via the training page, participants will receive a confirmation email with a payment link.
  • If a participant prefers to pay via invoice (e.g. through their employer), they may contact [email protected] to request one.
  • After payment (via online method or invoice), participants will receive an email confirming their payment and containing the Zoom access link.
  • Following the training, participants will receive:
    • A certificate of participation
    • Any supplementary training materials provided by the trainer.

Prices listed do not include VAT. The applicable German VAT (19%) will be added on top of the course price during checkout or invoicing, if applicable.

  1. Right of Withdrawal (Cooling-Off Period)

In accordance with §§ 355–356 of the German Civil Code (BGB) on distance contracts:

  • Participants have the right to withdraw from their registration within 14 days of booking, without stating any reason, as long as the course has not yet been delivered.
  • To exercise the right of withdrawal, participants must notify us in writing (e.g. by email to [email protected] ).
  • If the participant registers less than 7 days before the start of the training, the statutory right of withdrawal (cooling-off period) no longer applies, and our cancellation policy in section 4 takes effect immediately.
  • By paying for the course during this period, the participant expressly agrees that the training service will begin before the end of the cooling-off period and acknowledges that the right of withdrawal is waived accordingly under § 356 (4) BGB.
  1. Cancellation and Refunds

4.1. By the Participant

  • Cancellations more than 7 days before the event: 100%* refund.
  • Cancellations between 2–7 days before the event: 50%* refund.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of the event, or no-shows: non-refundable.

* In case of a refund, administrative fees may apply depending on the conditions and processing fees of the selected payment method.

4.2. By the Organizer (Data Egret GmbH)

  • We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel the training due to force majeure, such as trainer illness, platform outages, or other unforeseen events.
  • In case of cancellation, we will offer a substitute date.
  • If the participant cannot attend the replacement session, we will issue a full refund.
  • We also reserve the right to change the trainer without prior notice.
  1. Communication and Privacy

By registering, you agree to receive:

  • Transactional emails about the training you signed up for (confirmation, Zoom link, post-training materials, etc.).
  • Occasional emails from Data Egret GmbH about new courses and educational offers.

You may unsubscribe from non-transactional emails at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us at [email protected].

  1. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for delay or failure to perform due to circumstances beyond their control, including natural disasters, illness, or internet outages.

  • If such events impact the scheduled training, Data Egret GmbH will propose a new date.
  • If no suitable date can be found for the participant, a full refund will be issued.
  • Trainer substitutions may occur without prior notice and do not entitle the participant to any claim.
  1. Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.

High Performance SQL with Postgres

 

1. General Information

This training is organized by Data Egret GmbH and will be conducted live via Zoom. The training includes seven sessions, as outlined below:

  • Monday, 1 December 2025  13:00-15:30 CEST
  • Wednesday, 3 December 2025  09:00-11:30 & 13:00-15:30 CEST
  • Friday, 5 December 2025  09:00-11:30 CEST
  • Monday, 8 December 2025  13:00-15:30 CEST
  • Wednesday, 10 December 2025  09:00-11:30 &  13:00-15:30 CEST

The training will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction to Execution Plans.
  • Indexing Techniques.
  • Statistics for the Planner.
  • SQL – What Not to Do.
  • Introduction to SQL Optimisations.
  • Understanding EXPLAIN.

The training is designed specifically for developers working with PostgreSQL. While no advanced SQL is required, a basic understanding of SQL is expected.
Data Egret GmbH shall not be held liable if a participant joins the course without prior SQL knowledge and is unable to follow the content.

If a participant is unable to attend one or more sessions, they are not entitled to a partial refund. However, all supplementary materials will be shared with the registered participant following the training.

2. Registration and Payment

Upon registering via the training page, participants will receive a confirmation email with a payment link.
If a participant prefers to pay via invoice (e.g. through their employer), they may contact [email protected] to request one.
After payment (via online method or invoice), participants will receive an email confirming payment and containing the Zoom access link.
Following the training, participants will receive:

  • A certificate of participation
  • Supplementary training materials provided by the trainer

A participant’s spot is only secured after successful payment. Non-payment may result in removal from the registration list.

All prices listed exclude VAT. The applicable German VAT (19%) will be added on top of the course price during checkout or invoicing, in accordance with local tax law.

3. Right of Withdrawal (Cooling-Off Period)

In accordance with §§ 355–356 of the German Civil Code (BGB) on distance contracts:
Participants have the right to withdraw from their registration within 14 days of booking, without stating any reason, as long as the course has not yet begun.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, participants must notify Data Egret GmbH in writing (e.g. by email to [email protected]).

If the participant registers less than 7 days before the start of the training, the statutory right of withdrawal no longer applies, and the cancellation policy in section 4 takes effect immediately.

By paying for the course during this period, the participant expressly agrees that the training service will begin before the end of the cooling-off period and acknowledges that the right of withdrawal is waived accordingly under § 356 (4) BGB.

4. Cancellation and Refunds

4.1. By the Participant

  • Cancellations more than 7 days before the first session: 100% refund*
  • Cancellations between 2–7 days before the first session: 50% refund*
  • Cancellations within 48 hours of the first session, or no-shows: non-refundable

* In case of a refund, administrative fees may apply, depending on the processing method and payment provider.

Participants who miss individual sessions are not eligible for partial refunds but will receive access to all materials presented during the training.

Transfer of Registration: If a registered participant is unable to attend, their seat may be transferred to another individual from the same organization, upon prior written notice to [email protected] no later than 24 hours before the first session.

4.2. By Data Egret GmbH
Data Egret GmbH reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the training due to force majeure, including trainer illness, technical outages, or other unforeseen circumstances.
In such cases, Data Egret GmbH will offer a substitute date. If the participant cannot attend the substitute date, a full refund will be issued.

Data Egret GmbH also reserves the right to change the trainer without prior notice.

Data Egret GmbH reserves the right to cancel the course entirely if the minimum number of participants is not reached. In such cases, a full refund will be provided.

5. Communication and Privacy

By registering, participants agree to receive:

  • Transactional emails regarding the training (confirmation, payment info, Zoom link, follow-up materials, etc.)
  • Occasional updates from Data Egret GmbH about new courses and educational opportunities

Participants may unsubscribe from non-transactional emails at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting [email protected].

6. Force Majeure

Neither party shall be liable for delay or failure to perform due to circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to natural disasters, illness, strikes, or internet outages.
If such events impact the scheduled training, Data Egret GmbH will propose a new date.
If no suitable date is found, a full refund will be provided.
Trainer substitutions may occur without prior notice and do not entitle the participant to any claims or refund.

7. Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.

8. Participation and Organisational Details

It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure access to Zoom using a stable internet connection and the most up-to-date version of the Zoom application.
If the Zoom access link is not received prior to the session, the participant must proactively contact Data Egret GmbH at [email protected] in due time.

Each training session is scheduled to last approximately 2.5 hours, including a dedicated time for Q&A part at the end of each session.

After each session, the trainer will send out the relevant training materials. If the session takes place in the afternoon, materials will be shared by the next morning at the latest.

Upon completion of the course, participants who attended at least five sessions will receive a certificate of participation. Participants who miss two or more sessions will not be eligible to receive the certificate.

Please note: Training sessions will not be recorded, and no replay or video recording will be provided. Participants are expected to attend live.

All course materials are for personal use only. Redistribution, public sharing, or commercial reuse is not permitted without prior written consent from Data Egret GmbH.

Data Egret GmbH does not provide real-time technical support. Participants are responsible for ensuring their own access to the platform and audio/video functionality.
